Hi. I am Omkar. Drawing sketches in one of my hobbie. Right from my childhood, I was always attracted to the pictures or sketches in a book but was not much interested in reading. I just want to warn you guys that I am not good either in putting words together in an interesting manner but, I would like to maintain a diary kind of thing for my sketches, so that, I can bind my memories and track my learning curve.
How I started with water colors
I was looking for art events in Hyderabad so that, it will be fun sketching with others. Unfortunately, there was not much offered in the Meetup website. On one fine day, I went to a film making event at Lamakaan and there, I encountered a group who were busy sketching and arranging them ready for a display at Lamakaan. I spoke with a guy to know whats going on and that's how I came to know about USk Hyderabad (Urban Sketchers). I have joined the group on Facebook page. WooHoo!! I was excited to attend for the upcoming event. |

My first event with USk was at Hyderabad Public school. We have all gathered at one place, then we all spread out to sketch whatever we find interesting and gather back later after 2 hours and take a group picture with our sketches. What I found very interesting is that, most of the people in the group were using water colors. Among all, what caught my attention was the huge paintings done by Anil who is a master in water colors and the opportunity to watch him paint. This has generated some interest in me to start learning water colors.

Third International Group Art Exhibition at State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, Hyderabad.
There was this "START -ART 2K18" art exhibition, where I was able to meet many artists who have exhibited there paintings. Apart from the oil, acrylic and water colors, I have encountered new art mediums like sand paintings and painting on egg shells which were fascinating.
